Her goal is to provide a safe and compassionate space for people to get support. Life has all sorts of challenges. Hello! I want to let you know a bit about me to help you make a decision to determine if I will be the right fit for you.
I have been counselling adults and youth with moderate to severe mental health concerns since 2017. I can help if you struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, problems with addiction, sexuality, unhelpful thoughts, and finding meaning/purpose in life.
I have been trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I have trained with Dr. Kevin Miller in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I also have experience facilitating multiple groups within Interior Health such as: Relaxation, DBT, CBT, Relapse prevention, Choose to Change and Substance Use Day Treatment programs for both adults and youth.
As someone who has struggled with anxiety, I know how challenging it can be. You are the lead character in your life and I will be a supporting role to help get you where you want to be to have a life worth living.
Fitness has been an important part of my life, I have been a fitness trainer at the gym for 17yrs. I believe our physical health affects our mental health. So whether I’m coaching strength training at the gym, running with buddies, or making leisure connections while paddleboarding/skiing/walking or bike riding. I believe it’s important to move to keep us moving forward.
MIndfulness and stillness are values that I also cherish. It is in stillness that we can reflect and self reflect on our life. I believe we need to feel it to heal it.
